#1. What type of band are you?~

Answer: We are a pop/rock, fusion band

#2: Tell us the brief history of your band.~

Answer: I have been in the underground industry since almost 6 years. I have played with many bands. Almost a year and a half ago, I met with Ali Asad, the vocalist and keyboard player. We both went along well. We started jamming and sooner than we thought, we started to take it up as a band. Ali then brought in Xahyd, the lead guitarist/vocalist and Zohaib, the rhythm guitarist, who had been playing with Ali earlier as well.

#3: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?~

Answer: My musical influence is mainly Mike Portnoy, since im a drummer. As a band, we tend to do things that are commercially accepted as well as technically good. We listen to all pop, rock, fusion, eastern/western bands from the subcontinent, US and Europe. We tend to perform for the crowd, keeping our flavor intact so that musicians also find it appealing and we could feel good about our music as well. As for non-musical influences, its different for all the members; collectively as a band, we would rather not look up to any particular person or celebrity.

#4: What are your dreams and goals?~

Answer: Its more like towards attaining what we have been striving for, that is to do good quality music, bring in our innovation and make more, new music and be recognized as a good band, globally.

#5: Who writes the songs, what are they about?~

Answer: we write our songs ourselves. We don’t go for a dedicated lyricist, though we welcome good lyrics from anyone. Since we know how to express through our art form, that is music, we can handle writings too.

#6: Do you guys have any other hobbies besides, obviously, making music?

Answer: yes, of course. Cricket is one hobby we all share. Besides, some of us are into graphics, animation, blogging and other creative sides.

#7: How do you promote your band and shows?~

Answer: Mostly social media. We aren’t going much extensive in terms of promoting. We are lining up our songs, to make an album very soon, and then we shall promote, at the right time.

#8: Describe your show, visual and musically~

Answer: Well, musically it is very rich, contemporary, experimental and fulfilling. Visually, we are known for enjoying our music on stage because that’s how you can connect to the audience.

#9: What do you think about downloading music online?~

Answer: Well, its sad that musicians don’t get to make money out of commercial music now a days. It has its own pros and cons. It’s like, no one refuses to get something for free. Its when you’re on the other side. I can’t be that much against the idea of downloading since we all do it, but looking at it from the commercial/business side, its bad.

#10: What's your outlook on the record industry today?~

Answer: Record industry from the music production perspective, its evolving. New musicians are setting up places with adequate equipment and that’s healthy. Record labels are not that hyped up here due to the downloading thing, since it doesn’t give you that much room to make money out of releasing new artists.

#11: What's your claim to fame?~

Answer: Each one of us has a different skillset. We believe in synergy. With my drums, Ali’s keys and vocals, Xahyd’s solos and harmonies, Zohaib’s rhythms and Bilal’s bass, it gives a sound that’s greater than the sum of the individuals. One missing link can hamper our sound significantly. We are known to improvise and perform things in our own way and people like it.

#12: how did you come up with the band name?

Answer: Idea of the band name is to be more symbolic and focused. The major part of our population is youth. Something that can relate directly to them will resonate among them. I can go really subjective explaining the band name, as youth can be symbolized with the rocks, that are hard to move and when moving, they are hard to stop and when they strike, they make their mark. I guess that’s pretty much about it.

#13: What inspires you to do what you do?~

Answer: Human is a packet of energy. It has to be utilized somewhere. Every person has a way to channel that energy somewhere so that they can feel good about themselves. Music is a gift, its inside some people. Its inevitable to do it. So the inspiration lies within us.

#14: What advice would you give to fellow bands?~

Answer: Do good music, learn from everyone. Improvise, experiment and put your soul into the music do you. Never do anything half heartedly.

#15: How does it feel to be in a professionally signed band?

Answer: It’s a good feeling, since intrinsic ispiration when recognized by others, it gives you an amazing feeling.

#16: How does music affect you and the world around you?~

Answer: Audio is a very tricky thing. It enhances the visuals, the moments have a certain melody. We humans have a heartbeat, and molecules are vibrating at a certain frequency. Everything goes down to music if analyzed closely. It affects all of us by its presence/absence.

#17: What's new in the recording of your music?~

Answer: We record our stuff ourselves. We keep trying to upgrade our equipment as much as we can. As for the music, we keep trying to learn and incorporate it in our music.

#18: What are the biggest obstacles for bands?~

Answer: Aptitude to do music, finances, direction and appreciation. These factors can be the biggest obstacles for bands.

#19: how can you fans contact you ?

Answer: Our Facebook page, our soundcloud channel. https://www.facebook.com/umair.khan.1422

#20: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.~

Answer: Last new year night was fun, we performed with Josh at Port Grand. Lets see where we will be rocking out the new year night. We usually perform at all the yearly events at different places, be it valentine, new year, or independence day. We performed live at Geo TV on Youth Day 2013.

As far as why you should be there thing is concerned, I would rather say that people who have more openness to experience and want to listen good fusion, pop/rock music, they should be there. We not only entertain the audience, we tend to give something for the sharp ears of the musicians who are backstage.
